KUCHING: The SUKSAR (Sarawak Games) organising committee is calling for 400 volunteers who are willing to help out in the Games to report themselves at the Sarawak Indoor Stadium at 8.30am for a briefing.
Applicants for the volunteer posts are required to help out in the 18 sports – 14 for able bodied athletes and four for the Paralympic sports which will be held at the various sports stadiums in Kuching.
Chief co-ordinator for the organising committee Ahmad Rodzli Hashim said they need experienced volunteers for the technical events – with those who had served in the Sukma 2016 preferred – even though they also accept those without the experience.
Ahmad Rodzli said there is no age limit for those who wish to serve as volunteers for the Games.
The SUKSAR which is held to scout for new talents for the next Sukma in Perak in 2018 is scheduled for Dec 14-17.
Among the sports to be held are athletics, swimming, weightlifting, cycling, badminton, archery, rugby, sepak takraw, judo, Muaythai, petanque, lawnbowl, handball, karate and judo.
The four sports for the less bodies Paralympic Games are athletics, swimming, archery and powerlifting.
