KUCHING: Batang Sadong MP Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri has come to the aid of recent storm victims in Kampung Hijrah, Simunjan.
Nancy said she was in Kuala Lumpur when she received the news about the storm that hit her constituency, Batang Sadong, a few days ago.
“As a result of the storm, several houses were affected and sustained damage to the roofs. Thank God, everybody is safe.
“Today I went down to the field to assess and present donations to the owners of the houses. Hopefully, these contributions can help ease the burden they bear,” she said in a Facebook post on Sunday (Aug 30).
Nancy, who is also the Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, was joined by Penghulu Ahmad Dol Sempol and Kampung Hijrah Phase Two and Phase Three village chief Wahab Zen.
The storm Sunday (Aug 23) damaged the roofs of 14 houses in Phase Two and Phase Three of Kampung Hijrah, Simunjan.
