SRI AMAN: A body of a 14-year-old boy, believed to have drowned while swimming in a pool at Peladang Getan Stumbin, Sri Aman, was found by a team of divers from the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) on Wednesday (June 10).
According to a spokesperson from Bomba operations centre, the victim, identified as Vensen Kelly Albis, was found at 3.04pm.
He was reported missing while swimming with two friends at the pool around 4.40pm on Tuesday (June 9).
“His body was found by a team of Bomba divers on their sixth dive, about 100 metres from the command post.
“According to information received from officers at the scene, the pool was three hectares big and about five metres deep,” the statement stated.
The search for the victim, which entered its second day on Wednesday (June 10), was carried out by seven Bomba personnel from Sri Aman BBP, led by Senior Officer II, Freddy John and 11 personnel from the Water Rescue Unit (PPDA) led by Di Hata Gobel.
Additionally, personnel from the police, Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), Resident office, Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) and 25 villagers were also involved in the operation.
The body was later handed over to the Sri Aman police for further action.
