MIRI:  The Covid-19 outbreak is putting travel plans on hold for airline passengers, with several flights having been cancelled and causing inconvenience to the public.

“The government is enforcing the movement control order (MCO) to curtail the spread of Covid-19, in this respect, the public are advised to adhere strictly to the MCO by staying at home,” said Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin in a statement.

Lee said the affected passengers would like the airline companies to refund them as soon as possible as the MCO has affected them financially.

Lee went on to urge the airline companies to notify in advance passengers, who have purchased tickets for confirmed flight, of changes in flight schedule or flight cancellation.

The minister advised passengers to closely monitor their flight schedule in the airline websites to avoid miscommunication and confusion as well.

Meanwhile, for those who need to travel between divisions and districts, they must obtain permission from the Resident or District Officer.
