Missing man feared attacked by crocodile

KUCHING: A search-and-rescue (SAR) operation is underway for a 27-year-old man who has gone missing in what is suspected to be a crocodile attack at Telaga Air near here.

The SAR operation is being conducted along Sungai Selang, Kampung Trombol Ulu in Telaga Air.

The victim, Norizam Mat Sukur, is believed to have been attacked by a crocodile while fishing along Sungai Selang, Kampung Trombol Ulu, Jalan Telaga Air here, yesterday morning.

A spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Services Department (Bomba) said the department received a distress call on the incident at 11.54am by a caller identified as Mohamad Monir Edi.

“So far, only the boat used by the victim as well as his personal items were found,” he said.

The location where the victim is believed to have gone missing.
