MUKAH: The Catholic cemetery at Jalan Haji Mohd Pauzi here now looks better after a fence was installed at a section of the burial ground facing a river.
The fence was put up at the end of last year at the initiative of the Roman Catholic Church Mukah Parish Pastoral Council.
Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo said the RM300,000 project was under the Rural Transformation Programme. It involved the construction of a fence, sand filling and laying of rocks to strengthen the side of the cemetery.
The fence consisted of a combination of steel and other metal structures. It is about 1.8 metres high and 100 metres long.
