SIBU: A farmer has been detained for allegedly raping his stepdaughter on Monday.
Mukah-Daro district police chief DSP Neil Beginda said that the 45-year-old suspect was picked up four hours after the 19-year-old victim lodged a report on Monday at Bintulu police station.
He was arrested at Kampung Penipah, Daro, about four hours drive from here.
“The victim was raped several times since 2004 when she was just 14 years old.
“The victim also claimed that the suspect raped her again at his farm in March this year when she returned for the school holidays,” added Neil.
He also said that the alleged rape continued in early October.
“Each time the victim refused to have sex with him, he would threaten to not send her to school,” he continued.
The victim was taken to Sibu Hospital for a medical observation.
The suspect has been detained for investigation under Section 376B of the Penal Code.
