SARIKEI: A total of 800 students in the Kuala Rajang constituency have received basic necessities and school equipment under the ‘Back To School’ programme.
According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) in a news report on Sunday (Jan 23), Kuala Rajang assemblyman Datuk Len Talif Salleh said that a total of RM100,000 has been allocated for the programme this year.
He said that he was very grateful because such community programmes could still be implemented every year which aimed to help ease the burden of parents in providing school equipment for their children.
The programme was held at Everwin Supermarket and Ar-Rahmah Mosque in Kampung Seberang here on Saturday (Jan 22).
Len, who is also Assistant Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development, also had the opportunity to visit and review the progress of the upgrading project of the Ar-Rahmah Mosque Hall which started on Nov 4, 2021 and is scheduled for completion on March 3, this year.
He also hoped that the project would be completed according to schedule and could be used by the residents by the month of Ramadan and the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
