SARIKEI: Seventy-seven projects worth RM773 million have been approved under the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP) for Sarikei Division.
According to a press statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, they comprised 33 projects worth RM493 million and 44 projects worth RM280 million.
These projects are in various stages of implementation, and focus on rural infrastructure to improve connectivity, basic utilities and services.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg on Monday chaired the 10th State Development Coordination Committee meeting to get reports on the development in Sarikei.
The meeting, held at the Sarikei Innovation Centre here, listened to updates from various implementing agencies, especially in Sarikei Division, and also identified problems faced by agencies and contractors.
Among those present at the meeting were Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri James Jemut Masing, Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip and State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion.
