KUALA LUMPUR: Seven Bank Ltd., the banking business of 7-Eleven group plans to expand the installation of its original cash recycling machine in Sarawak and Sabah in 2026.
The installation, which began in Rawang, Selangor this month will target suburban areas so that residents who have less banking function will be benefited, with the coming installation of the first 100 machines will be made in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang and Johor later this year.
During a press conference held in Kuala Lumpur recently, president and representative director of Seven Bank Limited Masaaki Matsuhashi said the bank has established a brand new name ‘Reachful’ and a strong start in Malaysia a continued growth of its overseas business.
“By collaborating with our partner companies to deploy automated teller machine (ATM) services in 7-Eleven stores in Malaysia, we hope to enrich the lives of the Malaysian people and contribute to further social development and economic growth,” he said.
In the meantime, chief executive officer of Abadi Tambah Mulia Internasional Malaysia Sdn Bhd Jin Sudo said Malaysia shows a significant growth in population and gross domestic product (GDP).
“In the cashless society, currency in circulation is at a high level too. We found the market very promising to expand our business,” he said.
For the record, since its first overseas ATM deployment in the United States in 2017, Seven Bank expanded its business in other countries such as Indonesia and the Philippines with more than 21,000 ATM installation by 2024.
Malaysia will be the fourth market outside of its home country, Japan, with the bank aiming to provide uniquely added value by combining retail and financial services in the future.
