KAPIT: Some 630 guests from Kapit and Song on Sunday evening gathered at Kapit Civic Centre to attend the wedding reception of Douglas Chupong Jamit and Florina Tatal.
Douglas is the eldest son of Bukit Goram state assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat and wife Nancy Kuyor while the bride is the second daughter of Mr and Mrs Tatal Sunang.
Among those present at the wedding ceremony here were Datin Angelina Celestine Ujang wife of Kapit MP Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi; Kapit Resident Nyurak Keti; Deputy Kapit Resident Galong Luang; OCPD Kapit DSP Freddy Bian; administrative officers in the Kapit Resident and District Offices Wee Teck Min, Irene Merang, Bidah Lujah, Nium Lium, Mohd Shukri, Julius Sapong; Temenggong Wilfred Billy Panyau; Temenggong Tan Kian Hoo; Pemanca Abang Hamzah Bohassan; Pemanca Enggin Nyipa; Pemanca Yong Thu Fook; Pemanca Steward Sawing; Pemanca Abang Hamzah Bolhassan; Pemanca Toh Tze Hua; Penghulu Lim Eng Hock; Penghulu Shia Shui Poh; Penghulu Sng Chee Hun; Penghulu Madang Jelaini; Penghulu Pasang Tubah; Penghulu and chairmen of various non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and clubs in Kapit.
The couples’ Holy Matrimony ceremony was held earlier on January 18, 2020 at Saint Thomas ‘s Cathedral, Kuching, followed by a wedding reception in the evening at Sarawak Chamber, Riverside Majestic Hotel, Kuching.
Speaking at the function, Jamit explained that the reception here was for relatives and friends who were unable to attend the wedding in Kuching.
