616 COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported in Sarawak in epid week 45

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded a total of 616 COVID-19 cases during the 45th epidemiology (epid) week, a significant increase compared to last week’s 459 cases.

Of the total number of cases, 604 were in category one and two, while 12 were in category three, four, and five.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its weekly COVID-19 update said one COVID-19 related death was also reported in Kuching.

In the 45th epid week, the committee said Kuching recorded the highest number of cases at 295, followed by Sibu (61), Miri (58), Bintulu (36), Samarahan (31), Bau (21), Kapit (19), Sarikei (15), Serian (12).

While seven cases each were recorded in Sri Aman, Dalat and Lawas; six cases in Subis; five cases in Betong; four cases each in Asajaya, Lundu and Tatau; three cases in Limbang, Pakan and Simunjan, and Mukah.

Meanwhile, two cases each were recorded in Beluru, Song, Matu and Daro; and one case each in Lubok Bukit Mabong, Selangau and Kabong.
