MIRI: Fifty-four motorcycles were impounded during ‘Ops Bersepadu’ conducted at Marina Bay and Jalan Nakhoda Gampar here on Saturday night.
The operation which started at 10pm on Saturday ended at 6am yesterday morning.
“During the operation 94 summonses were also issued for various traffic offences,” said Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah when contacted.
Among the major traffic offences were driving without valid licence and vehicles without insurance cover and expired road tax.
According to Lim, the operation was aimed at curbing street gangsters, besides tracking down stolen motorcycles and wanted individuals in the area.
