KUCHING: A total of 500 small and medium enterprise (SME) entrepreneurs will receive grants in the form of technology tools worth RM10,000 through the GoDigital Sarawak initiative.
The Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) has received a total of 13,000 GoDigital Sarawak grant applications which was opened last June 12.
However, only 500 entrepreneurs were selected after being screened in terms of the eligibility of the application.
GoDigital Sarawak was introduced by the Sarawak state government under Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance (BKSS) 5.0 to finance SMEs with technology tools to digitalise and upgrade their businesses.
In the meantime, one of the main objectives and goals of the GoDigital Sarawak initiative by the Sarawak government is to help entrepreneurs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Besides that, the grant also aims to develop digitally ready entrepreneurs throughout Sarawak as well as realising the digitalised efforts of the state government.
GoDigital Sarawak is founded by the Ministry of International Trade & Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development (MINTRED) and powered by Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC).
