BALINGIAN: Yayasan Felcra recently distributed food aid baskets to flood victims in six villages in the Balingian district.

The affected villages are Kampung Baru, Kampung Lintang, Kampung Masjid, Kampung Pulat, Kampung Suyong, and Kampung Kuala Balingian.

The aid was distributed by the Progressive Youth Club of Pekan Balingian, led by its chairman, Mohd Helmi Zamil.

He stated that the total contribution of RM4,000 was used to provide food baskets to 50 families affected by the floods.

“With this contribution, we hope it will help ease the burden of the recipients,” he said.

He further explained that the food baskets contained essential items such as rice, instant noodles, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, and other basic necessities.

In addition, Helmi mentioned that his club also represented non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in distributing 50 food aid packages to flood-affected families in early February.

He added that the food baskets, consisting of essential supplies, were provided to recipients who were flood victims in the Balingian area.
