MIRI: A house owner at Kampung Merikan here had a shock when a 4-metre long python was spotted slithering outside his house last Saturday night.
It was understood that the house owner, in his 50s, was resting at the living room when he heard some noise outside the house at around 9.30pm.
Upon going out of the house to check, he saw the python at the car porch and immediately contacted the Civil Defence Force (APM) for assistance.
Miri APM officer, Captain Mohd Hazle Shah Hamid said three personnel were dispatched to the location after they received a call from the house owner at 9.39pm.
“It took us about 10 minutes to catch the python,” he said, adding that the snake was later released at a nearby jungle.
