KANOWIT: Twelve individuals, including four children, were injured following a two-vehicle collision along Jalan Lukut Penyulau here yesterday (Sept 24).
The accident involving a Proton Saga and a Perodua Axia with seven and five passengers respectively, happened around 3.15 pm at Angkong Bridge.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Kanowit station were despatched to the scene following a distress call.
By the time they arrived, the passengers and drivers have already been rescued out of their vehicles by passers-by.
The team administered initial treatment for the injured victims and took them to Kanowit Hospital.
The extent of their injuries is not known.
