KUCHING: The Sarawak Cricket Association (SCA) has successfully concluded the Talent Identification (TID) phase of its Sarawak Cricket Development Programme, unveiling 36 promising young cricketers.
A collaborative effort between the Sarawak Cricket Association, Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC), and the Sarawak State Education Department (JPN), the programme aims to nurture and develop young cricketing talent from across the region.
These young cricketers will make up the first intake at the newly established SCA-SSC-JPN Sarawak Cricket Development Centre.
The rigorous TID process involved a series of trials and assessments to evaluate the skills, fitness, and potential of young cricketers across Sarawak.
“Players from various districts showcased their abilities with the final 36 selected for their exceptional talent and commitment to the sport,” SCA said on their Facebook page on Sunday (Jan 5).
The SCA has expressed its congratulations to the successful players and extended gratitude to all participants, coaches, parents, and officials involved in the programme’s success.
“We look forward to witnessing the growth and achievement of these young cricketers as they embark on their journey in the world of cricket,” the post read.
