BINTULU: The Road Transport Department (RTD) here issued a total of 34 notices against motorists for tinted window offences during an operation last Friday.

In a statement, Bintulu RTD said the operation codenamed ‘Ops Cahaya’ was carried out to ensure compliance with vehicle tinting regulations along Jalan Kidurong.

“Notices for inspection were distributed under Section 61(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 against 34 vehicles for tinted window offences.

“Aside from that, 22 non-compliance notices were also issued for other offences following the inspection of 428 vehicles,” the department said.

The operation was led by Sarawak RTD deputy director Nor Azlan Ibrahim alongside Sarawak RTD Operation Section head Saifullah Ali, Bintulu RTD chief Fedrick Kedo, and officers from various Bintulu RTD enforcement units.

RTD hoped that focused enforcement actions like ‘Ops Cahaya’ would encourage greater compliance with traffic laws.

In light of this, the department reminded all road users to always adhere to traffic laws that are enforced.
