KUCHING: Malaysia reported 28,825 Covid-19 cases yesterday (Feb 19), the highest cases in a single day since the pandemic hit the country in 2020.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 95 cases were in Categories 3, 4 or 5.
Of the 95 cases that were under Categories 3, 4 and 5, more than half of the cases have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, 28 cases were unvaccinated or only received one dose while 18 cases have received booster shots, he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, 12 new clusters were detected yesterday.
There were also 34 new Covid-19 fatalities reported yesterday, including 12 were brought-in-dead cases.
The total number of Covid-19 infections in the country now stands at 3,194,848.
