KUCHING: Two hundred and fifty nine cases of open burning of forests, turfs, bushes and thatches involving 528.953 acres have been detected throughout Sarawak so far this month.
These statistics were provided by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba).
From March 1 to 9, Bomba received 49 reports of open burning while it received 42 reports of open burning from March 10 to 17.
The department received 139 reports of open burning from March 18 to 24 and 24 reports of open burning from March 24 to 25.
