KUCHING: Some 222 children from The Salvation Army Boys Home, 12th Mile Children Home and Perkata attended a Charity High Tea hosted by Kuching Chef Association (KCA) and Borneo Convention Centre (BCCK) to share the joy of the Chinese New Year celebration.

BCCK chief executive officer Eric Van Piggelen said, “We are honoured to be the venue to host and be part of this meaningful event organised by KCA. This event is good for us as it is part of our (BCCK) continuous corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives since we began in 2009.”

KCA president Chef Abang Abdul Rahman said the event will indeed go a long way in allowing the association to help more by contributing to the underprivileged children in Kuching and the state in future.

“We would like to acknowledge the generous contributions from our sponsors, Borneo Convention Centre Kuching as the venue host, Supreme Food Supply, Nestle, Chin Yie Hing Food Supply, Imperial Hotel and Start Anise Catering, which helped in the preparation of this charity high tea event,” he added.

“This is the first collaboration to depict the social responsibility between KCA and BCCK in reaching out to the less fortunate in our community. KCA has been developing partnership with a number of Industry players and it’s a good start for both parties to collaborate,” BCCK chief finance officer, Joseph Chung said.

On behalf of BCCK he thanked all the participants, especially KCA for their collaboration to make the event successful.
