KUCHING: The date to redeem admission tickets to the opening ceremony of the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2024 has been postponed, with a new date to be announced later.
This was informed by the SUKMA Sarawak 2024 secretariate recently which gave “unforeseen issues” for the delay.
Individuals with coupons are advised to stay updated on the new redemption date by visiting the official SUKMA Sarawak website at http://www.sukmasarawak2024.my for the latest information.
“Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted,” the secretariate said.
On July 14, a ticket distribution event was held at Plaza Merdeka Shopping Mall. The event concluded over an hour early due to a sold-out crowd.
The series of events for SUKMA will kick off with the opening ceremony at Sarawak Stadium on Aug 17. This will be followed by a SUKMA dinner at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on Aug 21, and the closing ceremony back at the Sarawak Stadium on Aug 24.
The opening ceremony is expected to draw 30,000-strong crowd from the public, with an additional 10,000 seats reserved for athletes and distinguished guests.
