KUCHING: A celebration of faith and unity took centre stage as over 2,000 worshippers gathered for the Association of Churches in Sarawak (ACS) prayer service, themed ‘Love That Transforms Lives’.
Held at the Christian Ecumenical Worship Centre on Thursday (Dec 19), the event showcased Sarawak’s hallmark of interfaith harmony, welcoming leaders from Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, and the Baháʼí Faith alongside the Christian community.
Bishop Datuk Danald, who led the service, stressed the profound significance of Christmas as a time of love, hope, and unity.
“Christmas is not just a tradition — it is a living reminder of God’s boundless love for all humanity,” he said in a heartfelt address.
The evening was enriched with scripture readings in multiple languages, soul-stirring musical and choir performances, and a sermon by the President of the Methodist Church Sarawak Chinese Annual Conference (SCAC) Rev Dr Lau Hui Ming.
Adding to the spirit of the occasion were Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang, Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii and Archbishop Simon Poh.
