19 SDA dancers to take part in 2nd KLDSA Malaysia Open

KUCHING: Nineteen Sarawak DanceSport Association (SDA) dancers will be out to keep the Sarawak flag flying at the coming 2nd KLDSA Malaysia Open DanceSport Championship 2017 organised by Kuala Lumpur DanceSport Association to be held on 23 April  at the Grand Pacific Hall of Evolve Concept Mall, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The nineteen dancers who are mainly trained at Alexis DanceSport Studio and Tyng Dance Academy in Kuching will be accompanied by Sarawak team manager Victor Bong, deputy team manager Crystabelle Chan Tyng Tyng and coaches Alexis Jap Hsiao Tding and Daphne Ten.

SDA president Chester Lim said he is confident that the young DanceSport athletes will put up good performances at the coming competition that is expected to attract the top dancers from throughout Malaysia and also from Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia.

Meanwhile Lim disclosed that as part of the association activities, SDA will be organizing more Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) courses for local dance teachers to upgrade their knowledge and skills apart from conducting the various levels of medal tests for students.

He added SDA will be holding its 12th Anniversary do and 2017 Sarawak Championship later this year.

Lim also expressed appreciation from Sarawak DanceSport Association for the support for its activities and programmes from parents, schools, Ministry of Youth, Sports & Solidarity, Sarawak Sports Council and Sarawak Youth & Sports Department.
