GEDONG: A total of 185 students from the Batang Sadong parliamentary constituency received ‘Back to School’ assistance to help them prepare for the upcoming school year.
Batang Sadong MP Rodiyah Sapiee stressed the importance of ensuring students are well-equipped for the new academic session, stating that the initiative aims to provide equal learning opportunities regardless of financial background.
“This contribution will help students transition smoothly into the new school term and support their academic progress,” she said when presenting the aid at Dewan Seri Gemilang, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Gedong yesterday.
The assistance includes essential school supplies such as books, stationery, and school bags, along with cash support to ease the burden on families.
Additionally, 20 lower sixth-form students from SMK Simunjan No 1, selected from B40 households, received laptops to support their digital learning needs.
The initiative seeks to reduce financial strain on families while ensuring students have the necessary tools to succeed in their education.
