JEPAK: A total of 1,500 solar-powered lights will be installed throughout the Jepak constituency to enhance lighting in key areas such as main roads, pedestrian pathways, and villages.

Its assemblyman, Iskandar Turkee said that the project reflects the commitment of the Sarawak government and local authorities to improve the well-being of residents, both in urban and rural areas.

“This initiative not only contributes to residents’ safety and comfort but also supports Sarawak’s green development agenda.

“The close cooperation between Public Works Department (PWD), Bintulu Development Authority (BDA), and the Jepak Service Centre will ensure this project is implemented efficiently and meets its objectives,” he said.

Iskandar said this during a meeting in collaboration with the Bintulu PWD and BDA, recently.

He also said that priority would be given to unlit areas such as village roads, public gathering spots, and recreational sites to enhance residents’ safety.

The project is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025, with the initial phase focusing on critical areas.
