KUCHING: A total of 135 individuals were conferred prestigious medals and state honours by Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar in a ceremony held at the Dewan Besar Astana Negeri Sarawak, Thursday (Nov 28).
The ceremony commenced with the presentation of the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS) to four recipients: Colonel (Retd) Mohd Afendi Abu Bakar, Galan Ngadit, Dr Faris Kamarudin and Fu Shiow Chyun.
This was followed by the conferment of the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK) to 11 individuals, including Anuar Da’an, Asan Odau, Aston Bobby Andy Chunting, Awang Ariffin Awang Bujang and Chang Kueh Chin.
The event continued with the presentation of the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB) to 20 recipients, including Bingkok John, Bolkiah Sirah, Bruce Kini Jesse and Prof Madya Dr Norazirah Ayob.
Additionally, the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS) was awarded to nine individuals, including Anthony Jiram, Busiai Seman, Chai Siaw Fong and Halim Mohamad.
The Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK) was presented to nine recipients, including Kingsley Pengiran Balang, Tuai Rumah Ramie Jaritan, Sana Nisau, Than Shau Bui and Nadia Suhaili.
Meanwhile, 44 individuals were conferred the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam, Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT), including Abdul Razak Zainoren, Bahtiar Afendi, David Mogei and John Nyo-Em.
The ceremony concluded with the awarding of the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak, Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS), to 38 individuals, including Abang Morni Abang Busrah, Abdul Talip Samsudin, Anuar Oloi and Alwie Ali.
Also present were Wan Junaidi’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi; Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk Seri John Sikie Tayai, Deputy Ministers in the Premier’s Department Datuk Gerawat Gala and Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya, Deputy State Secretary (Administration) Datuk Buckland Bangik, and Chief Syariah Judge of the Sarawak Syariah Judiciary Department Datuk Awang Suhaili Ledi.
