SARIKEI: The 12 shop owners who were affected by fire incident at Jalan Industri here recently received assistance in the form of spandex roofs from Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii.
According to a press release, the spandex roofs were distributed last Tuesday as repair work is being carried out at the moment.
“Each shop owner will also carry out repair work through their insurance compensation so that business can run as usual immediately,” it said.
Previously, Huang had visited the incident scene to better understand the difficulties faced by the victims.
He then distributed food baskets immediately after the incident.
The distribution of the roofing assistance was witnessed by Penghulu Huang Tiong Kang as the representative of Huang together with Kapitan Law Pick Hung and Kapitan Chieng Hei Chin.
