SIMUNJAN: A 12-foot crocodile was successfully captured by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in Kampung Sungai Lingkau, here today (Dec 14).
Bomba received an emergency call at 7.02 am after the crocodile was spotted trapped behind the caller’s house.
A team from the Simunjan Fire Station responded promptly, arriving at the location just moments after the call.
Using specialised equipment and personal protective gear, the team safely restrained the crocodile by securing its head and legs with ropes and covering its eyes with a gunny sack to facilitate the operation.
The capture was completed by 7.50am
The crocodile was later handed over to the Sarawak Forestry Department for further action.
