KABONG: A total of 11 local Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) have received four-wheel-drive (4WD) Toyota Hilux vehicles under the Sejati Madani Project, a federal initiative aimed at empowering local communities.
The official handover ceremony was held at the Kabong District Office compound and officiated by Kabong assemblyman Datuk Mohd Chee Kadir yesterday (Apr 8).
The Sejati Madani Project is part of the federal government’s ‘Program Sejahtera Komuniti Madani’, designed to stimulate the local economy and raise household incomes through funding of up to RM100,000 for eligible communities.
With 84 JKKKs benefiting from the initiative, Kabong now records the second-highest number of recipients nationwide, just behind Saratok.
A total of RM8.3 million has been approved for Kabong District under the programme.
The ceremony also featured a Hari Raya Aidilfitri 1446H celebration, co-hosted by the Kabong District Office and attended by local community leaders and members of the Community Chiefs and Village Heads network.
