BETONG: Che Zhong Khor Betong Moral Uplifting Society recently gave Gawai contributions to 100 longhouse residents in the Layar state constituency in preparation for the upcoming Gawai Dayak celebration.
According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), the donations in the form of daily necessities and cash was presented by Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu to help ease the burden of those who will be celebrating the Gawai Dayak soon.
During the event, Rentap, who is also a Layar assemblyman, thanked the Che Zhong Khor Betong Moral Uplifting Society for constantly aiding the less fortunate and for never neglecting to assist postpartum mothers at the Betong Hospital.
Also present were Betong Resident Richard Michael Abunawas and Che Zhong Khor Betong Moral Uplifting Society chairman Chan Chu Chu.
